How to be a Fellow

Stay Professional. Strive pace on Fellowship

The Hong Kong College of Perioperative Nursing (HKCPON) is one of the 15 institutional members of Hong Kong Academy of Nursing and Midwifery (HKANM, previously known as HKAN). Fellowship of Hong Kong Academy of Nursing (FHKANM) is conferred by HKANM to experienced and knowledgeable nurses in the following specialties: FHKANM (Perioperative), FHKANM (Perioperative - Pain management), FHKANM (Perioperative - Endoscopy), FHKANM ( Extracorporeal Circulation Perfusion) and FHKANM ( Decontamination and Sterilisation Services).

There is a pathway of becoming Fellow Member from Ordinary member.

If you are a Registered Nurse and had worked in the Operation Theatre Unit, Endoscopy Unit, Sterile Store Unit, or as a perfusionist or a pain nurse at least for 4 years out of the past 6 years, HKCPON welcomes you to be with us to be a Fellow of HKAN (Perioperative / Pain / Endoscopy / Perfusion / Sterilization).

Before becoming a Fellow, you can first apply to be an Ordinary Member. You will then need to complete a minimum 3-year pathway to progress. Once you have achieved the qualification requirements set by HKCPON, HKANM will confer you the title of FHKANM (Perioperative).

If you are a Registered Nurse but have not been in a speciality for at least for 4 years out of the past 6 years, and you are interested in developing the fellowship, you can start as an Associate member to stay engaged with HKCPON.
